A Note from the Founder

I didn’t go to college, and I barely passed high school. I’m not saying that to apologize for it. I’m saying it because it shapes how I work.

I am teaching myself how the shelter system really runs, starting from the other side of the intake desk, where the people it serves sit. I want to understand the paperwork, the money, the rules, and the logistics well enough to fix what makes them hard.

Firebird Holdings is where I work on housing and policy. But a shelter also needs people who can hire well, keep clean books, choose safe technology, plan for emergencies, raise money honestly, and train the people doing the work. Small nonprofits shouldn’t each have to build all of that alone. That is what Kellwright Group is for.
