Audit
In formationIndependent CPA firm
A licensed CPA firm can audit or review our financial statements.
Under review This page is a draft. A licensed CPA will review it before it is final, and it may change.
What that would mean
In a financial statement audit, a licensed CPA firm checks the records behind an organization’s financial statements and gives an opinion on them. Under Minnesota’s public accountancy law, only a licensed CPA firm can do this. A review is lighter and gives less assurance than an audit. A CPA can explain which one fits.
Where we stand
No firm is chosen or engaged. We are not operating yet, so there are no financial statements. We do not yet promise a yearly audit. That decision comes after formation, once we know the cost. When it is made, we will say so here.
How we would choose a firm
- It must be independent of us. It should not also keep our books or do our management work.
- It must be licensed in Minnesota.
- We will post its name here once it is chosen.
This is different from the support we plan to give partners. See External Audit Support.
