Every department is in formation, and no role is open. Work could be for a partner or for Firebird Holdings and its shelter nonprofits. Work between Kellwright Group and Firebird Holdings is reviewed by counsel first. See Ethics and Conflicts of Interest.
HR
Contract work could include:
- Hiring process design and job description development
- Onboarding frameworks and employee handbooks
- Performance review systems and staff development planning
- HR compliance guidance for nonprofit employers
- Conflict resolution support and workplace policy review
- Compensation benchmarking and benefits review
Accounting
Contract work could include:
- Monthly and quarterly bookkeeping
- Financial statement preparation and review
- Nonprofit-specific budgeting and forecasting
- Audit preparation and internal control review
- Chart of accounts setup and clean-up
- Support with nonprofit accounting standards (ASC 958)
Technology
Contract work could include:
- Technology needs assessment and roadmapping
- CRM and donor management platform selection and setup
- Cloud migration and IT infrastructure guidance
- Data management and reporting system design
- Staff technology training and adoption support
- Website and digital presence consulting
- Work on Firebird Holdings’ shelter software, ShelterNow
Security & Safety
Contract work could include:
- Physical safety policy development and workplace safety planning
- Cybersecurity risk assessment and response planning
- Data privacy policy development
- Incident response planning and tabletop exercises
- Staff training on digital safety and social engineering
- Vendor and third-party security review
Grants & Fundraising
Contract work could include:
- Grant readiness assessment and strategy
- Grant writing and funder research
- Individual donor cultivation and stewardship planning
- Annual fund and campaign development
- Case for support and fundraising communications
- Fundraising data management and reporting
Training & Operations
Contract work could include:
- Organizational capacity assessment
- Staff and leadership training program design
- Process mapping and workflow improvement
- Policy and procedure development
- Strategic planning facilitation and support
- Board development and governance training
Some work needs a license or credential that the law requires. Where that is true, the agreement will say so, and we will not offer the work without it.
